General tuning, porting and programming page

I have just edited the this article.

It occurred to me whether it would be a good idea if we didn't just focus on SIMD, but on tuning and porting, programming in general? There you could list books and links to tutorials etc..

What do you think? We would just have to think about writing all this on one page or splitting it up.
