Common FRU Access Macro (CFAM): A predefined hardware block shared across multiple designs (soft / hard macro), acting as a bridge between FRU functions and one or more FSI slave ports. Typically used at a high level for diagnostics, and by system firmware or OS level (kernel) software for device initialization and use.
