Good idea. I would categorize the external links like Raptor related links, IBM related links, datasheets, porting guides, tuning guides, PowerPC assembly guides, PowerPC related forums, mailing lists, blogs etc.

New grid layout

The new 2x2 grid layout that HLandau has created looks like a step in the right direction, although I'm confused why each grid region has an unused unstyled div. Is this meant to be used for something in the future, or can it be removed?

Also, there should probably be a discussion on how best to group the four categories; for example, at the moment there are three different links to different parts of the Hardware Compatibility list, which looks to me like a waste of the home page real estate.

Removed vestigial divs. --HLandau (talk) 03:18, 11 March 2019 (CDT)

Criteria for Software Porting Efforts

What are the criteria for listing Software Porting Efforts on the front page? Looks like 0ad and Wine were excluded, and it's not documented why. --JeremyRand (talk) 14:22, 16 March 2019 (CDT)

Why not just make a porting category with a list (A-Z) of applications with ongoing ports?

This "Porting" category is then placed on the main page. -- MPC7500 (talk) 8:13, 17 March 2019 (CDT)

I just saw that this is already the case. But the list contains only "P". I don't think this is optimal, because there will be +100 applications at some point. -- MPC7500 (talk) 8:30, 17 March 2019 (CDT)

How to organize external links?

I have recently added a few links to the "External Links" section on the wiki main page [1].

There are a few more which could be useful:

I'm not sure if the Main_Page#External_Links is the best place for them... it's getting quite big. But maybe that's not an issue.

  1. Should I just add the links above to Main_Page#External_Links?
  2. Should we introduce sub-sections in Main_Page#External_Links? Like "RCS/RE", "Mailing Lists" and "Other"
  3. Should we create a separate place (section on the main page or a separate page) for mailing lists?
  4. Should we create a separate place for "developer ressources", with a sub-section for dev-related mailing lists?

These are just some ideas... what do you all think?
